Blue Dragon Katana by fixinman Blue Dragon Katana by fixinman
The Blue Dragon is finished. This is one of the most intricate katanas I have ever made. It still needs a little work, the paint on the saya isn't quite right.

Made of maple wood.

Dimensions

Length: 43-1/2"

Blade Length: 29-1/2"

Balance Point: Directly behind the tsuba.

My heart thus has been stolen, this is a beautiful piece, and I would love to have a real blade made like this, my Favorite Creature is a Blue Dragon and this Katana is just amazing...

Better win the lottery, from a Japanese master this would be about $500,000. I have seen a similar one and that was the price tag on it.
Or you could buy a half decent  one and switch the blade out. With a real katana blade it would be $5000.

I was more talking about someone who can make a good blade for not so much, I was talking about someone like the guy who does man at arms... He does some amazing weapons and I know he'd be able to make a more then half decend katana for maybe between $500 to $2000...

I have seen their work. I am a fan. Well if you can, send him the design. I'd love to see a real katana done that way. A note worthy feature is the tsuba is a spiral.

The prices I got were for Japanese blades, made in the traditional manner.
